Nice old Japanese architecture. The restaurant is renovated from the inn that continued from the Edo period Good atmosphere. Recommendable seat is hearth side. At center of the restaurant, there is hearth. So you can see the cook is cooking flesh meat, fish, tofu etc. ... For dinner, you can order it à la carte, but if you do not know well you can order the course menu which is called Omakase. There are 3 kinds of course dishes, 2,000 yen, 3,000 yen and 4,000 yen. We chose a course of 3,000 yen, we were very satisfied. They have English menu. And also staff of restaurant was very nice and friendly. I visited Ozu for a day trip while I travelled to Matsuyama for a conference. I decided to have lunch at Aburaya after I saw an advertisement on the local tourist brochure. It was not easy to find, and I went with a group of friends at the peak lunch hour. We waited more than half an hour for a tabl...e and I immediately ordered its signature dish, the pork and chestnut rice set. I was definitely not disappointed as the food was amazing! I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anyone who visits the area.

The food here was tasty and of good value. The fried tofu, grilled and topped with a sweet miso paste is a specialty. Would be happy to eat here again.

This restaurant is in a small bus rest stop. The food was very good and we were able to point at the menu. I asked what most people where having in a very hot iron round bowl. It turned out to be tomkatsu shrimp with rice. The food was good and the miso soup one of the best. People were very ni...ce and the owner gave us a small package of baby wipes for our trip. Very sweet.
