In this restaurant you will receive really good service from the waitress, she explains a lot. English only very very limited to some polite words. The beef is really excellent. Clean bathroom and nice music. Quiet place. Would go again.

Ok, so I like yakiniku and am willing to travel long distances to eat good food. I have eaten at Jojoen, which is very nice but also very expensive. I discovered this restaurant about 2 years ago on a recommendation from the concierge at Westin Sendai. I was told it was going to be pricey but it was... probably one of the best. I must also stress here I can't believe this restaurant has not been reviewed yet as if it is some great secret dining place, anyway back to my review: Boy, was he not kidding!! I got the impression by the decore that the bill was going to be a little significant. The individual rooms are well appointed and classy. Each table is divided by a pull up screen. The sitting area is sunken so easy for westerners to sit at for long periods of time. The specialty of the area is tongue, however I would bypass that and go straight to the karubi and in particular the SHIRO (white) karubi. It is spectacular. It is nothing short of devine when you eat it. You can't help but smile from the taste of perfection as it just melts away. Now I must say shiro karubi is marbled wagyu meat but for utter indulgence there is noting like it in the rest of the country!!! I have have deliberately visited Japan on a number of occasions to specifically go back to this restaurant in Sendai. On the walls at the entrance they have pictures of whose who that have dined there. The service is excellent and you are given a complete run down by the well informed staff on every cut of meat that you order. Every time I eat there I am surprised by my bill at the end oof the meal. I always expect the bill to be excessive because of the quality of the food. But my bills for THREE people to stuff themselves and to have a few drinks is always just under or just on 20,000 yen. Even my wife who is not a huge fan of meat believes that this restaurant has the best meat she has eaten. International guests that I take there are equally impressed and have also dined at Jojoen in Tokyo and have thought the same as me..... this is the best Yakiniku restaurant around. Indulge yourself and enjoy and remember to go for the shiro (white) karubi. Also have your hotel make a booking for you. It is only a 3-4 minute walk from Sendai station on the opposite side to the city, what ever exit that is and behind Yodobashi :) and I think it is on the second floor Enjoy!!!
