A typical japanese izakaya with great atmosphere. Be warned. You need to make reservation inadvance or risk not being admitted. Most japanese salary men are here for small eats and plenty of drinks. However the foot here is good. I would recommend some yakitori, hachinohe senbei jiru, shijimi and ka...iyaki miso as I found these dishes to be outstanding. This restaurant is a mere 3 minutes walk from the Aomori Train Station.

Great atmosphere, local dishes, real vibe. Get there early, we arrived at 5 and they were turning people away by 5.30. Super service, 50s and 40s jazz, local fish, chicken and pork flavours. Friendly and attentive staff, enjoyed the sake choices.

My partner saw that they offered a birthday service on their website, and we wanted to surprise my family when they visited us in Japan, as their birthdays happened to be in the same week. I made a reservation and added a note to the restaurant. I wasn't sure if they would remember or if they still ...offered the service since it was still a month away from when I made the reservation. However, they did remember and gave us three ice creams, each with a sparkler. I really appreciate it; it created a wonderful memory. Oh, and of course, the food was delicious. Highly recommended!

Sukeroku is a on a side ride off the main Shinmachi street opposite the Aoga building. My wife called the restaurant mid-afternoon to try to reserve for early evening but were told it was full and to maybe drop by around 8pm. We did but then put on a list for open seats. I left my phone number and w...e strolled around for quite a while. There was no call and we almost gave up but went back again to see the situation. They said they were just about to call and our counter seats were ready. The place is very busy. The main reason is the price. Dishes are very small but very cheap. The quality is quite good and surprisingly better than the higher rated izakaya in Aomori. I rate it average only because there is no "Good". It was GOOD. The staff, again, were very friendly and quick to respond to any request. In the end we found it worth the wait.

Friendly Environment and great services. No English menu but menu are Japanese language with pictures. So no worries.
