“excellent food and atmosphere ”
we wanted to eat beef and this place was close to the Tsuruoka train station, and reviews seemed to be ok, so what else they have menus with pictures, very useful for japanese-less tourists like us, although not in English, but one of the waiters was able to answer our questions and requests, which... can be summarized in just one: we don't want to eat tongue (although it looks yummy) you sit in a table and they bring you a portable fire so you cook (burn) your own food we ordered with no limits, kimchi, vegetables (to be also grilled), two different types of beef, and spicy noodles, ask for level three of spicy if you dare, with two large expensive beers everything was excellent and fun, very recommendable!!!

“If you like meat and a livley atmosphere , eat here.”
This restaurant is very close to the station with parking in a car park shared by the local shops on the same block behind the restaurant. They serve a raw meats amd vegetables to be grilled in front of you and dipped in sauce. There is a choice of lemon and soy sweets sauces for dipping and while t...he restaurant is quite rough looking in terms of the chairs an open layout it has a fun lively atmosphere. The menu has a lot of pictures on it, i recommend the potato salad and bacon dish. Kids under 12 eat eating with adults get a plate of meat, rice and a drink for free. This restaurant has no tatami area, all seats are sort of crates with cushions on them. When i visited there were groups of students and groups of people who apparently worked together enjoying large jugs of beer and sizzling food. I recommend the mixed plates of meat and ofcourse the hormone plate. Cook the hormone for a little longer than you would the meat.the ceaser salad is good and rice served fluffy.
