This restaurant, recommended and booked by our hotel reception staff, did not disappoint. The tempura was very good indeed, in fact everything was. Service was professional but friendly, and it was good to sit at the counter and watch our food being prepared. Would certainly recommend.

One of my goals of my trip to Japan was to try simple dishes. This restaurant was my option for a good tempura. As in many cities in Japan there are always a few good options for great food and many others for just standard eating. After trying some average tempura, in this restaurant the menu offer...s you a full selection of the best quality. Fairly small but I went there early and without reservation. I asked for the house menu and I got served whatever they had. I loved it!!

Off the busy street of Hondori, this 2 Michelin star restaurant can sit max 10 people. Sitting is by the counter and the food are freshly prepared, cooked and served to you. The stern looking chef is assist by his son. Each dish are prepared, served to you as he inform you which dip to apply. Dip pr...esented are: Salt, Lemon juice, Curry powder and Tempura sauce. The tempura butter used are light and thinnly coated so you can emjoy the freshness of the original ingredients. Timing is perfect for the duration of each dish so we were able to enjoy each dish and not wait too long as he manage the preparation for the next dish as well as the other diners. The alternating/sequence of the different ingredients and dip also have been well thought and adds up to dimension. We notice that as we end our meal, the chef now looks more relax and smile, also start to chat. And yes, he obliged with a photo together with us. Due to limitted sitting capacity, reservation is suggested. Opening Hours: Lunch - 11:30am to 2:00pm Dinner - 5:30pm to 9:30pm

I think this just wasn't for us. The food was good but frankly not really worth the money (we each had the 9000 yen set). We never really felt welcome. The chef barely spoke to us while he chatted away with the other diners (who were all Japanese). He only really spoke to us at the end of the night ...once everyone else left. He speaks good English so it's not that he doesn't speak the language. Since there are only about 8 seats it just makes you feel unwelcome. We had chefs at other restaurants who barely spoke any English who were much friendlier. He also had his assistant cook a lot of our food and I didn't see him do that for the other diners. We don't really do fine dining so maybe it's just us but I can't recommend the place.

Well deserved 2 stars Michelin restaurants despite the service in the detail as Michelin star restaurant like replacing your dirty and messy utensils . However the food was great and service too. The ventilation needs to improve as the clothes may smell after dinner. Do book earlier as the restauran...t has limited seat .
