“Fabulous Meal!”
My husband and I were on a day trip from Hiroshima, and stumbled across this little family-run restaurant on the second floor of an unassuming building near the waterfront. We didn't see any other tourists there so we gave it a go ... and we were not disappointed! We both had the pork tempura set a...nd it was Oishi! Highly Recommended!

“Delicious ”
My wife and I were looking for some local food after viewing the flooring gate and came across Oshokujidokoro. It's on the second floor and has a beautiful view of the mountains. The food is terrific. We had the pork okonomiyaki, the tempori udon and the pork katsudon. Everything was great!

“Curry.”
We were about to get the ferry after the sunset when we spotted this place. It's very basic inside with both Japanese and modern seating tables. Menu has a lot of eel and oyster dishes. It's annoying that each person has to order a dish as the portions are massive. I had the pork curry which was del...icious. Everything is freshly made. Too many rules in the restaurant but this can be forgiven as the food was remarkable. Slightly expensive though.

“One of the few places open in the evening”
Most eating places in Miyajima seem to close around sunset, when most of the tourists return to Hiroshima. This one stays open later. Food was ok but nothing special. The proprietor is extremely friendly but smokes right in the dining area.

“So delicious ~”
This place was right down the block from my hotel, so I dropped by on a whim. The staff wasn't very friendly by typical Japanese standards, and when I was given a menu most of the oyster dishes were crossed out - I guess they ran out of oysters? So right off the bat I was very skeptical about this p...lace. But notice I'm still giving it 5 stars? The food was SO GOOD. I mean just absurdly good. I ordered fried oysters in a set meal that came with some of the best sashimi I've ever had. It was incredibly fresh, like blow-my-mind delicious and smooth and almost buttery. I squeezed lemon over my oysters and after one bite I was in food heaven. My friend ordered the Hiroshima-style eel okonomiyaki. It was the best okonomiyaki that I have ever had. I finished almost everything on my plate and ended up helping her with hers, because the portion was massive. The food was more than good enough to make up for the dead-inside waitress and the fact that almost a whole page of the menu wasn't available that day. You will not regret eating here, despite the staff, despite the lack of ambiance, despite the menu shortages. Also the restaurant overlooks the ocean right by the torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine. You can't see the shrine itself but the view of the water and Hiroshima in the distance is breathtaking.
