美味しいわたやの山賊焼きとうどん 田舎茶屋わたや 沼田店

We recently went to Wataya for lunch while staying in the area with family. Quite a big place right on the main road with a huge water wheel out the front so it is hard to miss. When we walked in we had to register on a screen at the front desk which gave us a numbered ticket. Soo a staff member too...k us to a table, a traditional setup where your legs and feet go under the table into a hole and you sit on a cushion. There are menus there, when you have decided what you would like you enter your order on a computer screen on your table. The meals soon came out. We ordered of the set luncheon menu , the food was great. Between us we had fried potatoes, sashimi, rice , miso soup, tempura, pickles. One also had Soba and Udon noodles.. We had a lovely filling lunch.

Have walked pass this place many times over the years while staying in the area. Recently invited there for lunch by a local friend. A lovely restaurant, Japanese in architecture, lots of colourful Japanese lanterns hanging from the ceiling, lots of timber beams , great atmosphere. Service was good ...and the food was terrific. Had one of the set luncheon packs plus French fries. The place was very busy so obviously very popular, a good idea to book .Doing everything right as our temperature was checked as we entered . It is easy to find as they have a huge turning timber water wall out the front, a real feature . Loved it and will return when in Hiroshima next time .
