“Not too bad, but could be better”
The "Juban" area is full of bars that cater to foreigners, but perhaps of the more quiet type. They have wine, which is a good thing, of course nothing for conoisseurs, but still, it's not just a pub, they have something more than purely junk-food, it's a good place to hang out with friends and coll...eagues. Guess, I'll be back.

A little jewel in Azaub-juban for inexpensive, tasty late-night/early AM eats in a crowded, boisterous hole-in-the-wall izakakya atmosphere. As the name implies, it is a "standing" bar -- there are a handful of stools, but you'll be lucky to find one available without a good stakeout. The crowd is a... mix of Japanese and foreigners, they tend to be characters, and they're half the reason for visiting because it's just not possible to go there without striking up multiple conversations. The food is simple but perfect for Izakaya fare, and the handful of wine-by-the-glass options are brilliant, inexpensive compliments to the whole thing.
