Hyakumangoku

Had a wonderful meal here. It’s a neighbourhood sushi restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. Seven seats at the counter and some extra tables. Sit at the counter if you can. Only choice at dinner time is between two omakase menus. The more expensive of the two is about 11,000 yen. This was very fair ...for the quality of the ingredients. We had a selection of nigiri including medium fatty tuna and uni plus some others we’d never tried before including sea eel. All excellent. The main chef speaks decent English and was extremely welcoming. In fact, it was one of the friendliest restaurants we’ve been to in Tokyo. Highly recommended and I would definitely come back if staying near Ueno again.

We can eat the best traditional Edomae sushi at this restaurant. Those chefs have excellent skills to make sushi and they serve not only sashimi, raw fish but also several plates which are great much with Sake! Awesome! One of chefs can speak English a little and give us some explanations about sush...i. They have a refrigerator made of wood in order to preserve raw fishes and shells and we can have a look at making sushi right in front of us. The bill isn’t low at all but very reasonable because we’re able to have fun the very best sushi in Tokyo. This restaurant is for the person who loves sushi and wanna eat real and authentic sushi instead of arranged for local or cheaper one. I strongly recommend you to order by Omakase, depending on chefs instead of some courses.Tight budgetter had better not go eat there. 食べ慣れている人向けの鮨屋。例えばマグロはトロより赤身が美味しい、干瓢が好き、小肌や穴子が好き、サーモンを鮨屋で食べない人。辛辣な口コミもあるが飲んで食べて一万円の予算の店ではないし、回転寿司に食べ慣れてる人や、そういう意向の人が行くべき店でもない。絶対価格は安くないが同等レベルの銀座の鮨屋に比べれば格安。そういう意味でも物差しがある人向け。飲まなければランチがお薦め。比較的安く最高の鮨を満喫できる。
