“Affordable Indian Lunch ”
You can enjoy 【🇮🇳Affordable Indian Lunch Set】at 【AHILYA】in Yoyogi, Tokyo. Lunch C set + Cheese Naan + Tandoori Roti ¥1700 2 Today’s curry, 2 Tandoori meat, Salad, Naan (1 Refill Free), Dessert + Lassi The set menu is affordable ! I orders one more naan and the chef gave away curry I didn’...t order in 🤗 Overall, the flavor is not too rich and it seems to adjust to Japanese preference. Cheese is full of Naan!! The dish is typical, however, I’m addicted😋 The place is located adjacent to Yoyogi Station. It’s easy access. The chef and staff are from India and have a chat. The restaurant has local Indian eatery makes me feel happy to be as if I were in the mood for India.

“Worst curry in years”
The three flights of filthy stairs should have turned me around before even reaching the rackety front door of Ahilya at Yoyogi Station but I was in the mood for Indian and always keen to try a new place. Ignoring ten or twenty cigarette butts on the ground floor I headed up the stairs. The room is... poorly lit, dingy in fact, and the overall appearance was, well, not particularly clean. The rather unfriendly welcome was therefore entirely in keeping with the establishment’s ambiance. A choice of only three set lunches are available and a request to order a la carte was refused. I ordered mutton curry with nan. When the tray arrived I thought I’d overlooked a starter course on the lunch menu. No. That tiny dish was my main curry. The smallest serving I’ve seen in years. And totally tasteless. Four small (and I mean small) chunks of mutton, swimming in a watery, flavourless, unappetising soup. I attempted to rescue the meal with a request for some chilli paste but even that had no flavour. Probably came out of a jar. And a cheap one at that. At , ¥850 this lunch did not break the bank but there are so many good Indian restaurants in this town there is no reason to waste your time in places like Ahilya.

“Delicious Indian cuisine”
On our fourth anniversary, my husband and I nearly wore our feet off traipsing around the Shibuya prefecture in Tokyo. We both love Indian food so wanted to complete our day with some. I had found Ahiliya online and learned it was adjacent to Yoyogi Station and the train we needed to return to our c...urrent living space. We were so grateful to sit! Do not go for the atmosphere, as there is no view, and the place is small and plain. However, the wait staff and the chef were very friendly, and the food was delicious. I do not like spicy, so I was very pleased with my almond nan and chicken korma. My husband asked for and received chicken vindaloo (not on the menu). He would have liked it spicier, but he enjoyed it. As you face Yoyogi Station, it is on the third floor in a building to the left, just next to the station.
