“Good food, bad service”
We go there often, because of the convenient location in Interpark Village in Utsunomiya. It's easy to go there after hitting the malls in Interpark. The food is good. Not 100% authentic, it's modified for Japanese tastes, but still ok if you want a quick bite of something Indian-flavored in provinc...ial Japan. We usually go for the curry set, with 2 or 3 curries to choose (avoid the butter chicken one - it's meh), salad, rice and naan. It's cheap, it's filling, it tastes OK. No complaints here, even if it's not "real" Indian food. What's bad about this restaurant is the service - slow, slower, the slowest. One of the waiters likes to literally leer at women. If it wasn't for him, we'd go there more often. His stares can make the meal really unpleasant. During summer months the AC is turned to "arctic", it's freezing in there.

“Good food but bad service. ”
The restaurant is located in the shopping mall. The interior lacks any sense but the food is quite good. Very disturbing is the very loud service staff. The waiter is discussing in the kitchen very loud and is basically not present in the restaurant. If you are hungry and like Indian food OK, otherw...ise go to somewhere else.

“Authentic, hard to find, upstairs, no frills.”
We were taken here by a friend who has lived in Japan for 15 years and speaks fluent Japanese. This is quite a tiny space but they do fit quite a bit of seating in. They have three other restaurants in Tokyo - Yoyogi Branch, The Osaki Branch and the Aoyama Branch but we can only vouch for the Usunom...iya Branch. The kitchen is in full view of the restaurant which was wonderful as we watched the chef kneading the dough, cooking our Naan bread and making our Keema Kebabs. The staff were friendly and cheerful. There were some very drunk, loud and at times rude (to staff) Japanese business men sitting next to our table. The staff treated them with dignity and courtesy despite their rude behaviour. The food was not fancy or a nouvelle cuisine interpretation of Indian food. They just served everyday dishes cooked to perfection. If that's how you like your Indian food then you will enjoy this restaurant.
