“Just OK”
Came in on a rainy cold day to warm up over a bowl of udon noodles. The service was fast, but not all that friendly. The udon was just OK and lacked flavor but it did warm us up at a cost of $15.23 for two.

“Delicious Udon at Ozuru!”
We had an amazing lunch at Ozuru! Ozuru is located on Sagatenryuji Susukinobabacho and we stopped here for lunch after visiting the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and walking around the shops and food stalls. We had 2 orders of the Duck Udon which was excellent & I had the Shrimp Tempura Udon. The Udon ...was freshly handmade & were incredibly delicious, soft and springy . The broth was amazing for the soup & completely hit the spot on a hot summer day in Japan. The Shrimp Tempura was crisp, perfectly cooked and not oily. The staff were friendly and courteous and my kids enjoyed the experience very much. I would happily go back and recommend Ozuru to anyone visiting Arashiyama!

“Big portions & quick pick me up”
Great value noodles with relatively big portions. Left with bellies full and tongues satisfied. Fast turnover so you don’t have to wait too long. We arrived during lunch hours 12-1pm on a Friday and only waited 5 minutes. Food was also prepared quickly after ordering. We ordered a udon with bean ...curd skin and onsen egg set & udon noodles with beef, grated yam and onsen egg. A standout was the udon noodles with beef broth that I could not get enough of 🤩. However we found the other components (tofu, chicken rice, pickled veg) of the set menu a bit lacklustre so would likely skip it next time.

“One of the best udon!”
Udon is handmade! Chewy and springy! They do good tempuras too! I recommend you don’t order their set so you can eat two servings of udons!

“Food good, but surprise at the end ”
My husband and I walked miles of shrines and temples, through the west of Kyoto. We wanted to sit for a nice meal late afternoon. This place was great. Good food and we felt revived. The surprise was when we headed out and I returned to just fill up my bottle from the pitcher at our table, the waitr...ess freaked out and said no. In Japan where people are so courteous this was not what I expected. I can’t imagine a reason why, but it did bother me, obviously. So, good food, misunderstood staff.
