“Lovely spot, good food”
Lovely traditional Japanese restaurant overlooking Kyto. I had the udon hotpot and my daughter had chicken mamba, both of which were v good. My partner was less pleased with the Inari- su-si (sushi rice wrapped in tofu) but he is vegetarian and that was about the only thing.

“Lovely soya ice cream @400 yen near top of Mt. Inari”
Station 6 is a place enroute the top of Mt. Inari is a place one rests tired legs while going Fushimi Inari. It is a kiosk serving multiple food items including hot tea and ice cream. I had lovely soya ice cream on a cone for only 400 yen( a fair price considering some shops at the bottom sells ice ...cream for 350 yen). They take a while to serve. You can sit in the places provided and enjoy a lovely view of Kyoto. Also admire how they have decorated the shop outside.

“Average food, but the only good option on Mt Inari.”
Located near the peak of Mt Inari, quite a climb up from the base of Fushimi Inari-taisha temple. Food is only average and a little pricey, but it is the only good option to eat a hot meal on the mountain itself. And you have to take into account that everything had to be carried up! Good views from... the front though.

“Nice stop on the Fushimi Inari trail”
Nishimura Tei is a small, traditional restaurant half way up the trail to the mountain top - at the four way intersection (Yotsu-tsuji). It serves kitsune (fox) udon (deep fried tofu on top of the udon soup) and even kitsune sushi or fox sushi ( deep fried tofu pieces). It is homemade comfort food t...hat gives you an excellent excuse for a short rest on your hike up the mountain. The view from the restaurant into the Torii lines path is very romantic, the place is low key, but can be kind of busy.
