“Overall bland food ”
Clearly popular with locals . Only counter seating was available so did not benefit from full experience of food on the table hot plate. Offered a La carte and set menu . Only set menu in English. Not bad value as included sorbet and drink . Food came very fast . Very bland however though the squid... part of the fried noodles was tasty. Food was all the same texture and not nearly as good as other local restaurants we tried. Staff were friendly. Cash only and pay at table. Opposite Nijo station and close to hotel so convenient but won’t be going back.

“Fantastic Okonomiyaki!”
We were looking for Okonomiyaki near our Airbnb and found this through a search. We were very pleased we tried it out. The staff were very friendly, and the food was great. We had 4 of the house specialty Nakanaka Okonomiyaki (it was probably too much food) as well as some gyoza. The Okonomiyaki... HD beef and shrimp - very good!

“Very good place for Okonomiyaki”
We liked the food very much. The Okonomiyaki was very delicious. The draft beer was very good. The restaurant is somewhat hidden on the first floor! The furniture shows some signs of wear and it is quite loud, but this could not stop us enjoying our stay. Credit cards are not accepted. We payed arou...nd 5000 yen for all of us (4 persons)

“Great restaurant”
Great find. Followed some locals up the stairs. Very welcoming staff. Offered western or Japanese seating. As we had children with us we chose western seating. Drinks and foods good prices. Very helpful staff. Very fun environment, great for older kids ( as very hot grill on table). Great food. Woul...d recommend this restaurant to all that visit Nijo.

“Fantastic find!”
We found this restaurant across from Nijo station in Kyoto. It was up some stairs so we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by the cheerful greetings by the kitchen and wait staff who continued to be effervescent and fun throughout our two meals (we returned two nights later for... our final meal in Japan). You can choose to sit Japanese or western style or at the bar. The food was very good and with drinks the price was very reasonable. We highly recommend this place for a fun and tasty experience.
