“Real teppanyaki in Japan”
This is the teppanyaki experience you want to go to in Japan. It is fantastic steak and great fun with your own cook right there. You will regret not going. This is the real deal.

“Exactly What I Wanted from Wagyu Teppanyaki”
We went just before midday on a Sunday and were seated within 10minutes in a booth big enough for 6-8 people. We don't dress the fanciest yet the staff made us feel welcomed and the chef was very friendly. I went for the "Special lunch" and my wife went for the "So lunch". The hors d'oeuvres was so...me sort of delicious raw ham and the seafood was grilled scallops prepared in front of us. Both steaks looked phenomenal, with mine being the A4 sirloin and my wife's an Australian fillet steak. We went with the recommendations of the chef, who had 40 years of experience, on level of doness. It was a good choice. Both steaks tasted incredible and I enjoyed comparing the taste and texture of the 2 steaks against one another. It has been the most expensive meal of our holiday but so, so worth it. Great way to try wagyu beef.

“Kobe is an Experience”
Of all the parts of our trip to Japan, lunch here may be the experience that sticks with me the longest. My family isn't the biggest fan of beef, but everyone came away impressed by what they had here. To be sure, kobe beef isn't the only beef available. Each of the different types of beef we ordere...d here was of the highest quality we have experienced. Kobe beef, however, is on a completely different level of enjoyment, and though we only made one order of it, our chef ensured that everyone had experienced its flavor. If you find yourself in Kyoto with some extra money to spare, I guarantee that this place will provide an excellent experience that you will remember.

“just do it”
I am typically a backpack traveller and enjoy to do nice/new experiences, while maintaining a limited budget. However, I love eating/cooking and it has been a dream of mine since years to try Wagyu. “Sent” to Nagoya for a conference - with only one day available for holiday - I decided to visit Kyo...to [SUPER BEAUTIFUL, RECOMMENDED] and skip Kobe, with the hope that I could try Wagyu anyway. After the day of visit, I was walking in the city and I stumbled across a small picture with written “Wagyu” and the name of the restaurant. Rapid check on google and - oh boy - google was giving it a very very good review. I think one or two times about it, considering my dream and knowing about the money that for sure will go out of my pocket. Moment of indecisions. But then, I mean, “you are in Japan once and you do not know if and when will be here the next time”… I go upstairs. Place still closed [it was 17.20/17.25], but they are cleaning/preparing for the service of the evening. They ask me if I have booked in advanced - negative - and they warmly organise a table in 5/10 minutes. Spoke with a chef on the choice of the meat.. They have everything one could ask for. Wagyu A4/A5/ from Kobe also. They suggest me to go for the smallest menu [it turned out to be a good amount of food] and Wagyu A5. Fast forward 5 minutes: I am enjoying my time [big room only for me], super pleasurable atmosphere with nice - not loud - music, nice view, super nice chef(s).. one cooking, another one passing by time to time and a waiter is serving me the first appetiser [SUPER GOOOOOD - Wagyu carpaccio]. After that, second appetiser [SUPER GOOOOD - salad with some ham -, but better the first, for my taste] and the A5 is getting ready. Tension, dream, moment of truth: put a piece in my mouth and oh boy.. Peace. I am a food lover and I come from Italy. I tried all kinds of steaks [and from different kind on cows]… tenderloin, new york, tomahawk, rib-eye, picanha, fiorentina (the best from the one hereby mentioned and not because of my origin) But this is different. It is tender, it is juicy. And most of all, it is rich. Like… you can chew a small piece for 30 seconds and it will still give you punches of flavour in your mouth. And this is something that I have never experienced before. And because of that, I felt it would have been ok, regardless of the amount of money they would have asked for the dinner. Yes, best steak ever tasted. Ah… it was - if I remember correctly - 100/120 grams. It may sound little, but no, it is enough! Again: it is not like other steaks, like a fiorentina, where it is nice to enjoy big pieces and try different parts, which have different consistencies or flavour profile. It is a completely different experience. Enjoyed the meal in peace (which included pumpkin, mushrooms, garlic [which combines well with A5], green chillies, onions, soia sprouts,… + final fruits). Every time I finished water or sake, the waiter [which was standing discretely outside of my room in a place where she could still see me] was coming and re-filling the glass. Final price: ~19.000/20.000 yen = around 160 euro. It might sound a lot [and it is, considering I am a student on a scholarship], but you pay for the experience: a chef cooking personally for you [shout out to the guy - of whom I forgot the name unfortunately - really funny and nice], a premium ingredient and a fantastic dinner overall. Would I do it again? Yes.

“Please dont go to MISONO Kyoto”
We visited a lot of restaurants in Asia (Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China). We ate Kobe beef many times... And the price about 250-300 USD per person, is a regular price for a set-menu (incl. beef). In Misono Kyoto was the quality of food, service and ambient the worst experience in our life (on thi...s price level). Misono Kyoto was the biggest scam on our current trip in Japan. Please save your money and go to other restaurants for Kobe Beef. Oleg
