“Splurge Meal - when in Kobe ”
Total splurge meal for a celebration: set with starter, salad, main Kobe beef, and dessert + coffee was about $300 per person. We were sat at the biggest table, that fit our group of 10 nicely. There are only 3 tables total in the dimly lit (read: romantic) restaurant on first floor. You can stand... and basically see the chefs cook/kitchen. Interior had bit of hunter lodge vibes. Really great quality meal and service, but comes at a price!

“Best Kobe Beef steakhouse in Kobe”
It’s expansive but one of kind, it was awarded 2 Michelin stars 6 times over its 6 decades of history. Look no further if you want to taste the best Kobe beef steak in Kobe! Other dishes were delicious but nothing astonishing.

“You just have to try once”
It was easy to book. Why? Probably was too expensive. Two set meals plus two housewine costs 80000+JPY. For lunch. The steak was one of a kind, not the juicy meaty ones in the western steakhouse. It was tender, not too fatty, and delicious . Waiter was friendly as well, though not talkative. Once in... a life time to try quality kobe steak in a proper kobe steakhouse.

“Totally overpriced--but what a steak”
It was a bucket list item for me to eat Kobe beef in Kobe, so we couldn't resist the chance to dine here while staying at the St Regis Osaka at the end of our 2 weeks in Japan. Dinner was good--but not worth the $1200 bill. The Sanda Kobe sirlioins were absolutely freaking delicious, but the rest ...of the meal was just average. For $1200, we should have had more steak--but it was a set menu. We did have a great bottle of wine, but it took a while to breathe and open up. The whole dinner just felt a little shortchanged, to be honest. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful, though. We don't recommend it because we just didn't think it was worth it. But the steaks were incredible--mind blowing even.

“Super expensive restaurant”
We were the only 3 persons lunching at the place. The waiters were not friendly, and came across as snobbish. The place has a dark dank feeling. It did not present well upon entry. The menu had only 4 items - amuse bouche (a sliver of dried beef), beef steak, seafood salad and dessert. The portions ...were all very small. The Sanda beef steak was probably about 100 to 150 gm and was not spectacular, not for the price. It was firm and tender but not worth the price. We were served coffee (expresso) at the end. The aromatic coffee was about the only item we could say was different from other coffee in most restaurants in Japan. A real disappointment for a 2 star Michelin restaurant, poor and unfriendly service, environment does not look clean, food was mediocre and the price was exorbitant - JPY35,640 per person. There were two of us and our 9 year old son. We spent JPY106,920 and reckon this is one of the worst Michelin star restaurants we have been to ierms of quality, quantity and price, and we have been to many around the world. We could just as well have been to a good steak house in Kobe to eat some decent Kobe beef.
