Dear Tonkatsu Maisen Aoyama Management, I am writing this on behalf of a friend who visited Tonkatsu Maisen in Shibuya this morning. She was alone and genuinely looking forward to dining here. She waited to be seated, but no staff attended to her. After about 15 minutes, she had to request a menu he...rself. Even after that, she was not offered a table. During this time, other guests including solo diners were being seated without delay. Despite being alone, she was repeatedly overlooked. She waited another 15–20 minutes and eventually had to leave.She also observed an American couple experiencing similar treatment. Given the clear difference in how guests were being attended to, the experience felt discriminatory and deeply unwelcoming. Japan is widely known for its hospitality and is actively promoting tourism, which makes experiences like this even more disappointing. I hope the management reviews this incident seriously and ensures that all guests are treated with equal attention and respect. We would appreciate a response from the management.

Excellent place. Tonkatsu here is amazing. Tender, crispy, tasty, perfectly cooked. One of the best we had. Highly recommended.

What can I say? Just absolutely the best katsu curry that I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Highly recommended!

Along with Ginza Bairin, this is one of the best tonkatsu restaurants I have tried. Price is very reasonable. We preferred the loin cut over the fillet cut. More flavor, texture and fat. Loin portions are generous. Unlimited salad and rice with each set ordered. Simply excellent.
