“Interesting Japanese food experience”

This is a very nice experience to have monjayaki in Japan, never had it in other places in the world. The staff will show you how to cook the monjayaki. You have to cook yourself. The okonomiyaki is also good, the ingredient is well balanced which make it very tasty. However, you must be able to spe...ak Japanese. No one can speak English in the restaurant.

“Long queue, but an affordable treat”

The queue for this restaurant was very long throughout the day, and every time I passed by it, the queue seemed to maintain it's length (though it did move quite fast when I was in it). I loved the yakisoba, and the monjayaki was a good introduction to monja in general!

“Monjayaki Dining at Tokyo Skytree”

Reviewed 17/Jul/2018

My wife and I had previously tried monjayaki dining during a past visit to the Tsukishima district in Tokyo and liked it. As a result, when we saw Daruma, a monjayaki restaurant in Tokyo Skytree, we decided to give it a try despite having to wait in line for roughly an hour on a Monday evening. We... were visiting in July 2018 when Japan was in the midst of its seasonal warm summer (daytime high temps in upper 80's to low 90's -- degrees fahrenheit). When we were seated, it quickly struck me that we were seating in a room full of grilling hot plates that offset the cooling impact from the restaurant's air-conditioning system and electric fans. Despite the somewhat less than cool room temperature, the food we ordered was delivered quickly and prepared for us at our grill top table. We then had to wait for the monjayaki to cook a bit more which resulted in our patiently waiting over a hot grill top in the middle of July. The food was good but didn't really leave me or my wife feeling full after dinner. After giving it some thought afterwards, it would have probably been more enjoyable to eat a monjayaki meal during a cooler time of year rather than the middle of the summer months.

Lovely place in the Tokyo Sky Tree . Traditional Japanese in the middle of such a touristic spot is always a bonus . Staff are very friendly and efficient , prices are reasonable and there is a wide career of dishes . Totally recommended !

I wanted to try Okonomiyaki and Monjayaki on my trip to Japan. We were going to the planetarium and found this restaurant on the way. We could see thru the windows how good the food looked and when we passed by the entrance the smell was amazing. The place was pretty busy so we assumed it was going t...o be as good as it looked. We didn't have to wait in line but Daruma is one of those places where people rathers stand in line than go somewhere else. So a nice waitress welcomes us in japanese and guides us to our table and brings the menu in english. We headed for the Okonomi and Monja yaki page. Nice selection of different recipes. One Okonomi and one Monja are marked with a "#1 choice" so we chose them. I didn't dare to cook neither of them on the griddle so the waitress did. Then she said we had to let it cook for some minutes and left but checked on us everytime she went by to wait other tables. Then after 3 minutes she came back to the table to say the Okonomi had to be turned and I said I would do it(and I did sucesfully).Meanwhile the Monja was ready and we were already eating it with the chopsticks and the little espatulas. It was really good as was the Okono once it was ready. Inside Sky Tree Town there are many restaurants that look amazing and it's hard to choose but if you choose Daruma you won't regret it. Both the waitresses that took care of us did speak enough english and we had no problems talking to each other. They had english menu and credit card payment is accepted. You can even buy souvenirs at the cashier. I still regret I didn't buy those little espatulas.
