Nakamura

Had dinner at this restaurant when the others that we were hoping to visit were closed - do look out for restaurant hours in Hakone. An elderly couple who speak little English walked out of the restaurant to invite us in when they saw that we were trying to translate the menu and quickly offered us ...an English menu. Food was simple, tastes home cooked, and at the same time delicious. A refreshing experience after eating at restaurants with strong flavors for a week.

Visited on March 2015 with a group of friends and family. On our way to Owakudank Valley from Hakone Yumoto, we had lunch at Nakamura restaurant. It was just 1 stop away from Gora, Chokokunomori station. The restaurant located just in front of the station, on the left. It was lunch time, and our g...uide in Hakone, already pre-booked this place. We were in a hurry from Hakone Yumoto because we had delay due to heavy snow from Kyoto to Odawara earlier in the morning. It was packed. Around 30-seater, you can choose to sit on tatami as well. They have a menu in English as well, with few kind of soba, served with either tempura or grilled fish. I had the buckwheat one with tempura and it was just great. Price would be around 1500Y per pax. Also a few minutes walk is Hakone Open Air Museum.
