“Delicious chicken hot pot”
We had a around 4,000 yen course which was very good mix of different parts of chicken and vegetables. Liked the atmosphere. Drinks were a little bit pricey.

“Great chicken hot pot restaurant ”
This place specializes "mizutaki" which is famous local chicken hot pot in Fukuoka. Together with veggies, you can enjoy different parts of chicken in tasty hot pot soup. We had this Mizutaki and a few other dishes and all of them were very tasty. Atmosphere was nice and each table was spacious. Thi...s place is very popular. Booking is highly recommended.

We were walking around the Tenjin Shopping area looking for foods and saw this restaurant which we read briefly from a local foods review. Without much to expect, we walked in and walked out an hour later with a satisfied stomach. Must try the chicken pot (you have to pay ¥300 additional for 2 pax, ...and they prepared the pot item by item), fried chicken (charge by pieces @ ¥100/piece), hotplate tofu and mentaiko morewashi.

“Very tasty chicken”
Had dinner here with my wife, and was almost turned away because no one could speak English and there were no English menus. I indicated that I had already chosen a set menu, as their website actually had an English menu. So if you don't know Japanese, I would take a look at their menu online firs...t. I ordered their second from top end set menu, which I felt was a bit too much, as it was about 20% more in cost to one down, and you only got a few small appetizers difference. I found the highlight of the meal was their soup. It was the best chicken broth I have ever tasted. I also especially liked their ponzu sauce, added a great flavor. I personally was not a fan of the chicken liver or chicken heart, but if you do, add another star on to this review. It was great to try once.

“Bland overpriced chicken soup in a cigarette smoky environment”
Restaurant : Hanamidori Main outlet Ambience : Typical and traditional enclosed restaurant with tatami mats where we all sit on the floor. Ambience is so-so but what spoilt it for us is the rampant smoking at every table, some with kids in tow. Japanese hv always struck us as super civic-minded,... but this smoking in enclosed restaurants in front of own kids and the nonchalance to other diners discomfort is totally unacceptable and spoils the entire dining expetience. Service Prompt and fast. Food : The menu was limited in a good way. We had their famous starters incl; The fried chicken, superbly done in fine flour and good high quality oil but lacking the strong rich aroma...not much seasoning....crispy and non-oily. The grilled intestines were chewy with a nice smokey aroma...enjoyable in a savoury chewing gum kind of way The grilled chicken thigh meat was nicely seasoned and done... The preserved vegetables hit the bulls eye. Better than what we hv eaten in taipei or korea. Salty, spicy, savoury, sour,,,,all the right notes And the main course the famous chicken hot pot. Before they start, they boiled a large cube of chicken fat as garnish into the soup. The main chicken pieces tasted like boiled chicken, chewy and not nice at all. In fact, it tasted bland unlike singapore chicken rice white chicken, which is smooth, light and tasty. The vegetables were what u expect from typical shabu shabu. The soup also tasted so so like what you can find at typical nonchalant chicken rice stalls in singapore. Didnt leave us with any deep impression. For a signature dish, this was a complete letdown. This establishment wouldnt survive in singapore if it opened one. Conclusion : 3 of us excl my toddler paid jpy13k for this dinner which i felt was grossly overpriced for boiled tasteless chicken. Being the main gourmet city in kyushu, Fukuoka has many wonderful establishments but this is is not one of them. Being around a long time doesnt mean its good.
