Tsukumo

From outside,Tsukumo looks very plain, like ordinary Japanese restaurant and not so attractive. We walked pass it at the first time. However, after getting recommendation from local, we stepped in. It is a relatively small restaurant with less than 20 seats. We came as a group of 4 and was assigned... to sit on a small Japanese style table. There is an English menu with only few dishes. We ordered salad, fried tofu, salmon and one other dish that I could not remember. All dished taste really good, exceed our expectation. The service was very good. The waiter and waitress came to check us regularly, even though we could not communicate much (we can't speak Japanese while they speak a bit of English). Most of the famous dishes were finished before we arrived (around 8 pm) so we guess that Tsukumo should be one of the popular restaurants in Naha. Price was reasonable. We left some tips on the table but the waiter returned it to us and told us that tip is not practiced in Japan. Very honest. Should recommend you try by yourself.

We had a great dinner with a reasonable price. The waiters and cooks are really available and gentle. The atmosphere was positive and all the dishes delicious. An advice is to ask the recommended menù of the day. You can also find a good choice of Sake. Higly recommended.

Great food, different from the classic touristic menu, absolutely affordable price, great value for money. Totally recommended.
