Kafuu

Very busy restaurant so book in advance. Up a flight of stairs to the restaurant. Inside the tables had a the heating pot on it. We opted for the Ala carte rather than the shabu shabu. The interior was rather rustic with tables seating with blocks of see through bricks as partitions. The wagyu ...sushi was good- required a bit of chewing. The tempura seaweed was also Excellent. The ink noodles was very good- subtle The fried tofu was also Excellent The bitter goude with pork and tofu was below average. The meat quality was poor and the tofu tasted somewhat burnt/ smoked. The cold tofu with peanuts was also excellent. The mango pudding was deliciously- super intense mango flavour- shame it was a small dish. There is a charge for dining of 350yen- it may be to cover the cost of the 3 amouse bouche items at the start. The fresh pressed umeshu plum drink was better than the end than the start as was too sour to start with.

Nice ambience but the food was average. We ordered a shabu shabu set which includes rice as the final course. However, the waitress didn’t inform us when we ordered extra rice. Maybe a language issue but we ended up being too full to eat the rice course so it was a waste! My favorite dish was the ya...m pancake.

the food is good, especially the pork. very good wait staff and willing to explain to us as we are not familiar to Okinawa cuisine. not far away from the hotel we are staying.

I love the service here. The food is tasty but what garnishes it at its best is wait staff hospitality and service. I loved it extra because of how welcoming they are. We will back if we stay at EXES again. Best service rendered during my Okinawa trip.

Kafu turns the classic shabu shabu dish into a really lovely dinner experience. It starts with the nicely decorated place, featuring both western-style tables with chairs and the Japanese-style low tables in private enclosures. It goes on with the staff, which is so nice and friendly and welcoming. ... Choose the shabu shabu course meal (as opposed to just the dish). This begins with a nice local drink and delicious appetizers. The shabu shabu dish itself, which the staff is happy to explain, is tasty due to the good ingredients and sauce. But when you thought it couldn’t get any better, you get soba noodles to soak in that delicious stock left over from the shabu shabu, not before mixing it with another sauce provided for that very purpose. I’ve enjoyed my first dinner at Kafu, came back for more, and I warmly recommend it to my fellow travellers!
