“Beware of Bait and Switch and Deceit”
Forewarned is forearmed! First, I went upstairs to this place in part because of the Happy Hour advertised outside. Sadly, there were no drinks at happy hour prices. Secondly, they charged me a hidden 300 yen cover charge with my one glass of wine. This was after the waiter brought me two pieces... of bread and said, "It's free." Then he said that the cover charge was a Japanese rule. Oh really? I've been to about 10 places in the area, none of which had cover charges. Their policy was in fine print at the bottom of the menu. Technically, they had the right, and it was only 300 yen, but that's not the point. The idea is not to trick your customers but to treat them with respect.
