Do not confuse over my rating, I am rating it as a father that bring along with 2 kids, that Q up almost 3 hours for a bowl of ramen. Well.. eating good food always being me and my wife passion, so as ramen enthusiast we got to try. The ramen is good, but there is a very distint flavor that I found... it might not appeal to certain group of eaters... If you traveling with a pack or family I will not recommend you to spend so much time to Q up for it, because you in Hakata, I believe there is way more ramen you can eat to just as a Quick Bite. This store definitely not to be classifies as Quick bite because most review I read is hours and hours of Q. But if you into ramen, this will not dissapoint you . I am give you assurance that it will be something you like to try .

In my opinion, this is one of the best Hakata ramen places in Hakata (of course!). There's always a line outside (95% locals), and when I went to join them on the line (pretty early for lunch, around 10:30am) I learned that they do the order taking differently in this place - all thanks to the local... guy (who spoke English fluently) who told me so. Well, there's a vending machine (inside the restaurant) where you need to place your order first before you fall in line. You will have to use your translator for you to know the things you're ordering. From noodles to the toppings and sides. You will also pay through the machine and one of the staff will hand you a ticket once you're done ordering. Anyway, the Hakata ramen here is just perfect!!! The broth is creamy and packed with pork and umami flavor. I love that it's just a little creamy (i guess from the pork bones and cartilage cooked for a very long time) not thick and there are condiments on the side if you want to make it a bit spicy, to counter the creaminess. The noodles have a nice chew to it, and the chasyu just melts in your mouth. Eating the hakata ramen here was an experience.

The restaurant has rave reviews and this was evident by the queue of more than 50 people at 10.40am (it opens at 11am). Thankfully, the staff and the system they manned were very efficient. It took us some 45 minutes to get seated. I ordered a special ramen and shared 10 gyozas with my wife, who had... the ajitama ramen with pork. The gyoza was pretty good. Crispy with flavourful filling enhanced by the vinegarish gyoza sauce. My special ramen and the ajitama had only one key difference - the special came with some boiled dumplings. These were yummy and were great going with the noodles, which were cooked to the appropriate degree, offering enough bounce in its texture. The soup absolutely takes the cake. No wonder the queue was so long even though this was not a public holiday! It was miso-flavoured with sufficient but not overpowering savouriness. The soup presented a very full "body" and it was excellent going with the noodles, which were also great in their own right. All-in-all, a long wait that has good reason behind it - delicious ramen worth the delay.

Hakata Issou is ranked high on many recommendations for ramen in the Hakata style. Judging by the crazy long line (a bit over an hour long wait) it is an extremely popular choice in the area. Was it a tasty ramen? Yes. Was it worth the wait? Probably not. Perhaps coming here during an off hour would... make it a better choice.

the broth is very thick and creamy, and the smell is filled with super strong pork bones. I think if you really love tonkotsu ramen in japan, this is definitely the one you should try. By the way, most of the case people line up for entrance, so be patient, and try to arrive earlier.
