“Wonderful family experience”
We went here twice - once with an (American) friend who spoke Japanese and once by ourselves (no Japanese). Had a wonderful dinner both times. The owner was so helpful in helping us get the meal we wanted. Comfortable. Convenient (directly across from the Grand Hyatt and Canal City Hakata). Sushi wa...s fresh, perfect. Highly recommend.

“Melt-in-mouth Otoro and Chutoro!”
A holiday in Japan without sushi can never be complete. We treated ourselves to a plethora of seasonal sushi and sashimi! I highly recommend this restaurant operated by a elderly couple in their 70s who started their business 50 years ago! For them to survive so long in this business, they must be ...doing something right don’t you agree?

“Traditional sushi”
This place is a little hard to find (not really recognizable as restaurant from the outside) and not a very large restaurant. But it seems a restaurant run by a traditional Japanese family, very friendly. There are (for as far I could see) 4 tables for max. 8 people in separate rooms. We ordered a f...ew mixed sushi which was delicious, however also a little expansive. But certainly worth the money.

“Mom and pop-shop with amazing sushi”
Beyond amazing. Visited with my partner. The owners, a family, made sure we felt at home, translated the menu - as good as possible - and gave good recommendations on sake (including how to drink it properly...). We had the biggest sushi set, and was delighted to enjoy multiple courses and the best ...sushi I’ve had in my life. True craftmanship. Very beautiful serving with 18 different pieces (x2). For people who want the deluxe and more upscale kind of dining experience, I’d say you’ll be a bit let down. This place is a family run business with focus on being a part of the local community, as the many local guests (kids included) and cozy atmosphere attested. But if you’re a traveler, would like a great experience and try something truly japanese, this is it. Also the restaurant has been open for 49 years, and that’s really something. Beyond amazing. “Quirky”
A small and, somewhat disorganised family run restaurant. It seemed dusty and not very comfortable. The staff were pleasant but, rather distracted and slightly disinterested. A limited menu which was cheap but uninspiring. No complaints but, wouldn't go back.
