CHINA SHADOW

We came here on our first evening as it was getting late and it is a bus ride into town. We ate simply and the food was well presented, if a little overpriced. The service was good and the waitress was friendly and chatty; she spoke very good English and told us she came from a village near Mt Fuj...i but loved it in Okinawa as she could see the stars on a clear night. As it was quite late, the restaurant was empty but I can imagine it would have a good ambience when busier.

We stopped here twice: a dinner was nice but just OK. Luch was fantastic with all menu ordered by choice to try several different dishes, including dessert.

We came here twice because we loved the food and the service. Staff greeted us warmly. English menu available. Wine list extensive. Everything we ordered was very nicely presented and quality was great. The indication on spice (acc to menu) seems to be adjusted to Japanese tastes. 3 chillies on the ...menu was absolutely fine with us. Reservation recommended.

Low end service overly priced. Food is more towards presentation as oppose to authentic taste. Good place for ambience but not if you are really after taste. The service sucks from any standard perspective. Food was served with stainless steel spoons vs. regular ceramic Chinese spoons. Near by Tote...nko and Kokiden are much better choices ( in hotel Goos and Takanawa). Portions are too small due to presentation concentrated serving I think. Won't recommend for the price you pay. Dessert sesame fried balls were delcious(2 piece for ¥600+tax and service charge). Not a place if you are tight on wallet.

Good food with a big premium. Even with a discount as room guest, I found the prices on the high side. However, the food was certainly good with very attentive serving staff.
