Kobe Beef OHKA Honten

We wanted to try Kobe bee while in Japan so we dropped by for lunch. The restaurant has a very appealing and cozy interior. The host wanted us to order from our cellphone but it was confusing since nothing matched the hard copy menu. I local group next to us had the same problem so it is not a fo...reign customer issue. I found it strange that no one asked how we wanted our steaks done so I just thought the chef was cooking some else’s steaks. I was totally surprised when he placed it one my plate. I like my steaks medium rare but my steak was cooked medium. In sarcastically said”I guess you forgot to ask me how I like my steak cooked ”. It was just OK for an overcooked steak.

Good set meal comprising 5 courses at a Teppanyaki restaurant in Hakata, Fukuoka. The quality of food was good and service was good, albeit some translations needed between English and Japanese. The teppanyaki chef Yagano took his cooking very seriously. We asked for the Kobe beef steak to be cooked... at Medium and he seared it perfectly. The reason we rate it 4 stars - We had arrived from Kagoshima and in comparison we had better value in terms of quality of beef and price for the meal.

After we canceled the reservation at the hotel's Chinese resto, we searched for a replacement. In the shopping arcade steps away, we were deciding between two beef teppanyaki restos. This one seemed busier, so we made dinner reservations for the last night of our tour. After my 40 min foot massage... at the shop next door, I RDV with the group for the Kobe Beef teppanyaki dinner. My wife and I both ordered the superior quality, medium rare set, 5500 yen each, which included not only the steak but also onions, potatoes, and bean sprouts. The beef was tender and juicy. I've never experienced teppanyaki-style experience like this -- no chef theatrics, no games, no playing with the food. He was surgical with the meat -- serving half, waiting for us to finish, and then serving the other half. The bill was difficult to understand since a service charge and taxes were mysteriously added. However, the service charge was offset with our 10% off coupon we received the night before. Moreover, we used our credit cards which was supposedly not allowed when using the coupon. Our final dinner together as a group was a huge success.

Dining here is such an experience. I was able to taste the delicious kobe beef steak and also their salads and side veggies was exceptional, all are very freshly made and i have never tasted anything like it. The kobe beef is so tender and melts in your mouth even if its medium rare.Every vegatables... in their salad was meticulously choosen. I enjoyed dining here on my special day and it was an amazing and unique experience.
