“A restaurant which I will come again if I visit Tokyo”
It was my second visit to Mokushundo, which I had been missing this place since my first visit. Having high-end Ishiyaki in the Japanese style house located in an exquisite Japanese style garden was a great joy during our Tokyo trip. Ishiyaki is similar to yakiniku, but the food is prepared on a ho...t lava rock instead of a grill. Compared with Kaiseki, Ishiyaki is not so formal, and the dining atmosphere is more easy and comfortable. We had 8000 yen set dinner menu which was only for the hotel staying guests. The set included premier seafood, meat, vegetable, also came with tasted appetizer and dessert. The cuisine was more delicate than what was in the ordinary yakiniku restaurants. Mokushundo is the restaurant which I will come again if I visit Tokyo.

“Fuji Stone cooked with lovely garden view”
Excellent meal cooked on a black stone from Mt. Fuji volcano. Fresh ingredients and well planned menu selections allow diners to experience it all in one meal. Especially enjoyed the delicate soup broth. Sophisticated servers are garbed in geisha while they prepare all courses except the one you co...ok yourself. Great fun for all. We deviated somewhat from the lunch menu and ordered a meatball. Glad we did! Stayed til closing. Not to be missed.

“Best lunch on my Tokyo trip”
Invited by friends. Mokushundo is located in Chinzanso Gardens, famous for numerous camellias flowers and so beautiful with Sakura in bloom. The multi-course meal is delicious, with meat, sea food and vegetable cooked on lava stone. Each course is so well presented and lovely, service is excellent.... Such a delightful experience! Will be back on my next trip to Tokyo.

“Amazing place, good food.”
We had a seven dish menu that included sashimi, tempura, sushi along with soup, beef (wagyu) and fish and vegetables, most of it was really good (I wasn't crazy for the soy milk skin or the Japanese egg omelet or the dessert). The esthetic of every dish was just exquisite (especially the appetizers).... The place - in the middle of this beautiful garden - was cozy. The service was excellent, very attentive and polite.

“A touch of Classic Japan”
Very formal dinner with colleagues that ended up being a great culinary experience. The walk in the park to get in the restaurant is magical, you don't even feel that you're in the middle of the biggest city in the world. Going back in a few months.
