Easy to find but close early. The omurice that we had did not come out like what it was shown. Guess we did not do it correctly. Food was good but the price is abit high. Had the chicken and fried scallop

“Amazing Omlete Rice”

Taimeiken is famous for Tanpopo Omlete Rice. We cut center of egg like a cushion, appear soft and creamy egg from inside. Needless to say, it is very delicious...! If you visit Taimeiken, you must order this dish. I like Butter Ramen too. It is more rich taste than usual Ramen. Taimeiken is wonderf...ul restaurant, but I must say you should line up in long time.

“Everything about Taimeiken is spot on!”

Taimeiken is a well established food house of 2 floors offering 2 different dining experiences. I went there for the famous Omurice dish which is available throughout Tokyo. Taimeiken is a 3rd generation owned and operated restaurant and is highly recommended for its signature dish of Tampopo Omuric...e. Taimeiken opens its doors at 11am daily. I arrived right on 11am, after catching a train to the nearby Nihonbashi Station, to find a line up outside the building for Taimeiken. There us a 1st floor(ground floor) cafe style restaurant & a more expensive upstairs part of the restaurant. There was no line up for upstairs so I chose to go up there. It is a beautifully quaint restaurant with waitstaff in black waitcoats, bow ties & white shirts. The tables are set with white linen and the ambience is charmingly old world. The service was friendly, attentive & extremely helpful with an English menu available. I was the only foriegner in the busy restaurant. I ordered the signature dish of Omurice. The beautiful waitress and waiter explained how I needed to cut the dish to let the soft Omelette open and flood onto the Chicken Rice. It was spectacularly good & very satisfying. I enjoyed the roasted barley tea which was complimentary. The whole meal experience cost me $28 & was well worth it. After my meal, the beautiful Japanese waitress who spoke perfect English (she had been a flight attendant for Japan Airlines) suggested I visit the old Japanese Kite museum on the 5th floor of the building. She escorted me up there & I really enjoyed poking about in this glorious little space with fabulous & historic Japanese artifacts. It was a great day visiting Taimeiken!

“Famous for Omurice”

Lunch with my whole family. My elder son wanted to try Omu Rice, which you open the omelet on the rice yourself, and we pick this famous place. Two Tampopo Omu Rices, Omu Rice, Paper-Thin Cutlet, Curry, and Rice, Borscht, and Coleslaw. Very good. We liked energetic waitresses, who served us.
