“Zaku was the best sake I’ve had! And limited but a glorious menu”

**Marugoto Onion Fry** — The absolute highlight. Marugoto means whole and in this case it was onion, fried — but the execution is truly unique, arriving with a scissor to help you cut through it. Tastes remarkably like the onion bhaji you'd find in India, but elevated. The mustard sauce on the side ...felt a little too international at first glance, but one dip and it paired with the onion in a way I did not expect at all. **Spring Roll with Octopus and Onion Flakes** — Introduced by the waiter as one of their specialities. The octopus inside is cooked to perfection and the onion flakes on top pull the whole thing together beautifully. Do not skip this one. **Smoked Salmon** — Deceptively simple but very well done. The addition of small seaweed on top made it genuinely memorable. **Chicken Skewers** — Several varieties available and all of them are decent. One note — have them quickly before they cool down. **Yakionigiri to Tori Soup** — A reliable option to pace the meal alongside everything else but not what you come here for. **Sake — Zaku** — Ask for a recommendation and they will likely point you to this, the first on their menu. A fruity style, remarkably smooth, and one of those rare drinks that tastes genuinely good without the aftermath. Do not leave without trying it.

“The Mastery of Charcoal ”

Fun, delicious, so courteous. Noisy, busy and hectic. The food is crazy good, there's something about a top notch yakitori bar, the charcoal the flavour, maybe the size of these petit but filling portions. We loved the place and kept going back, you have to try it! Thanks to the Ozzie guy who spoke ...perfect Japan and our little friend from Napal.

Tried on the off chance and had a great reasonably priced meal. The deep tried onion and the seared pickled mackerel are not to be missed.
