“Don't order stewed beef or any other beef dish in this restaurant”

Reviewed 21/Jan/2020

Made mistake of ordering stewed beef with rice as my main course in this upmarket Tokyo restaurant The dish consisted of three pieces of " beef" covered in heavy gravi accompanied by mushroom and one small roasted potato Once I started eating this dish I realised very quickly that instead of beef ...there are loads of heavy thick fat and interconnecting chewy bits everywhere In fact eatable meat constituted only 20% of the whole dish the rest was just solid fat Looks like their chef doesn't know how to cook beef. I appreciate that the chef is perhaps Japanese and not fully familiar with europian style of cooking I wouldn't give this type of meat to my dog back home let alone humans I wanted to complain right there and then but my Japanese girlfriend asked me not to complain and I complied with her polite request I suggest to the manager of this place to teach his chef how to prepare meat for human consumption properly It's ok to copy europian dishes but please do it properly: trim the bloody fat and other non consumable bits before you cook it!! The bill for two people meal was humandous for Australian standards - over $100 USD!!! My girlfriend though was happy with her omrice - I did not like the taste of it either! As I result I left this establishment $100 USD POORER and hungry as this dish was my main dish of the day!!! Stay away from their beef dishes!!!

“Late lunch vidit”

Ordered beef stew , salmon and small salad with glass of house wine Also ordered rice to accompany beef stew I am from europian background and I know what a good beef stew looks like and taste like What came was not a beef stew but an odd tasting three pieces of beef full of fat and stringy bits In ...fact half of my portion I didn't eat at all because of huge amount of fat and connecting tissues not meat Also beef was not as soft as I expected it to be! All in all complete disappointment with my main course!! A nice glass of French wine helped to smooth things up a bit but a bill of about $50,00 yen ( approx. $50 USD) left me kind of angry and very disappointed!! And hungry too as thus dish was my main dish!! Don't these people in the kitchen learn how to trim meat bits from excess fat and connecting tissues?!?!?! Huge disappointment ! Whatever you do please don't order beef stew if you don't want to waste your money.. Never again

This shop has long history. I didn’t know what “yousyoku” means but figured out its a good old japanese style dinner. I ordered beef stew and it tasted very nice. I assume this type of restaurant serve typical japanese food that made them remember their good old days. Again, this is like japanese ...style old dinner.

“Stumbled across this restaurant, was quite good, but no English staff or menu.”

We stumbled across this restaurant as our hotel was in the area. It's not too big, and the staff here does not speak English. They also do not have an English menu. Luckily I can read and speak some Japanese, but this isn't too much of an issue since a lot of Japanese restaurant's have pictures in t...heir menus. We ordered a set lunch which was around 5000Y for two people. There were actually lots of food. The food is quite Westernized as appetizers were cheese and a variety of ham. What was unique was their squid ink rice. I would say it's a place to go for mid-priced lunch.
