“Delicious tuna, nice atmosphere”
We found this place quite by accident, venturing into the little alleys. It was a great find, so we came back on our second trip - I didn't know the name or location on map then, so we found it totally by accident again. The only minus was that our table on the second visit was right under the A/C t...hat made our food get cold very quickly.

“Modern japanese”
Absolutely delicious food. We ate here the first night we arrived in Japan and then made sure we came back for our last night. The seared bonito is awesome as is the beef. Actually everything we ordered was delicious. Reasonably priced

“Felt like visiting the real place”
This is one of those serendipity find we decided to rely on since most of the places we wanted to go were full. The set up of this Izakaya was to try replicate a scene at a creek in Kouchi Prefecture. Warayaki (grilling on straw) is featured strongly in Tosa cuisine. A real jem of a find. We had ...a very satisfying meal and thank God, there was an English menu and I don't have to point and point and ended up ordering all the same thing.

“Pleasantly lost in translation ”
We were at a conference in Tokyo and went to Shimantogawa restaurant. Had a fantastic experience, staff extremely helpful and patient with us - as none of us spoke any Japanese. We had copious amounts of excellent Sake and a brilliant meal. A very memorable experience
