Chugokuhanten Roppongiten

The Chugoku Hanten is a very high quality Chines restaurant located across from Roppongi Hills in Tokyo. On the outside the restaurant looks like any other Chinese restaurant you might find in any country in the world, but don't let the cover fool you, inside is hidden a wonderful restaurant serving... wonderful food. Chugoku Hanten offers luxurious private dining rooms, which are great places for business dinners or family events. They are also a great place to eat if you have young children who might disturb other diners in an ordinary restaurant. We typically order the Shanghai crab course dinner, the crabs are brought in on a platter so one can see them before they are cooked. The crabs are then cooked, the shells stuffed with crab meat and such, served with a vinegar-based sauce, they are quite amazing. The course also includes meat, fish, and fowl dishes, shark fin soup, vegetables and rice. The service is excellent. empty plates are quickly cleared, dishes are served promptly. The restaurant offers a good variety of alcoholic an non-alcoholic drinks, and they are quite happy to accept special requests, which is useful if you have children who are picky eaters. The Chugoku Hanten in Roppongi is easy to find, it's almost directly across from the Roppongi McDonald's, on Roppongi Dori on the eastbound side. It is within walking distance of Roppongi Station, which is 2 minutes away on foot, or Nogizaka station, which is about 10 minutes away. Reservations are recommended.
