“Seasonal Full Course Satisfying”
I have enjoyed all the meals I had there. The Chef's choice of seasonal vegetable makes my meal satisfying and enjoyable. I normally order from the "Specials of the Day" list or ask the Chef what he recommends. You never go wrong! The service offered by the staff is also great, makes me feel at ...home. I took my fourth year graduating students after the three day graduation presentation to congratulate them for their good work and the restaurant kindly prepared a special dessert for them with lit candles. They were delighted.

“Enjoyable meal”
Close to Gotanda station, we came here on a rainy Sunday lunch. The service was friendly with an English menu and plenty of selections. We chose the set menu and enjoyed Minestrone which was fresh, fish pasta, grilled bream, a fruit tart and finally coffee. We’d be back.

“Ok overall”
Don't look for an amazing experience, but the food is ok overall, but nothing special. Service is also just ok. Perhaps it all just misses a bit of friendliness.

“Average MINUS”
I have been to this trattoria since it opened and watched its menu evolve over the years. It is located about 10 minutes from Gotanda Station JR on what used to be dubbed the SONY Street, as part of the Arrieta Hotel. It is not a fancy place, with paper table clothes and napkins, but comparatively... spacious with an open kitchen so you can see the three cooks at work, something I enjoy. I have been in this eatery twice in the last month. On the previous visit I praised the home-made pate, the cherry tomato salad, and the carbonara. The wine selection is not especially impressive but OK. Last night I ordered the same dishes. Very unfortunately the carbonara arrived so overloaded with garlic I could not eat it. The waiter fortunatlely returned it to the kitchen and they fixed a normal carbonara. Restaurants have to understand that just dumping garlic on food does not make it tasty. Sure garlic is an ingredient included in many recipes but not such that it is is the central taste, unless you simply want a glove of garlic. Carbonara, a Roman dish, it tasty for its creamy, cheesy flavor, a very delicate balance. I have no idea what the cook or restaurant was thinking to bombard this marvelous dish with garlic. I will return to Arietta but surely hope the cook has learned something.

“Average at best”
Food is average and there is quite a doom and gloom feel about the staff which is a shame as it looks attractive from the outside with one long counter and a nice pizza oven. The pizzas are nice but a little undercooked each time. A higher score if there was more friendliness, but after visiting mor...e than 5 times it never gets better.
