“Teppanyaki Colza for Melting Tender Wagyu Steak and Awesome Service”

Our last dinner in Tokyo was at the exquisite Teppanyaki Colza in Ginza. The four-course dinner included 4 small bite appetizers, then unto Scallop, Wagyu Filet, and grilled ice cream. Each course was delicious. Refined and delicate flavors served with impeccable service.

“Superb experience”

We really enjoyed this experience. The restaurant is not huge and located in the basement of a building in the Ginza district of Tokyo. We were seated by our engaging hostess on stools beside the hob on which our meals would be cooked. There were a number of set menus to select from - the more co...urses, the higher the prices. We opted for a set menu featuring appetizers, salad, a choice of fish or steak and sides of miso and rice. The appetizers were good - the salmon very good; the cod, which was cooked by our chef not to my taste but an experience. The salad which followed was delicious but it was all just building up to the main event, wagyu beef cooked rare three different ways and served with spring onion, potato roti and rice and miso soup. So good. The beef literally just melted in the mouth. We opted to share a teppinyaki ice cream for dessert and were glad we did as fruit was out in the hot plate before the chef added and lit alcohol before adding the ice cream. A spectacular way to end a very good meal. The experience did not come cheap - nearly 200 up pounds including three alcoholic beverages and service charge - but was worth it...

“Disappointing Christmas meal”

Our dining experience at Colza was far from what we expected it to be, given that it was positively recommended by the hotel Concierge & the reviews we read were okay. We dined on Dec 25th. We were seated at the a la carte table as the teppanyaki tables were all taken according to the staff who too...k our reservation. Service was slow as food came out slow. Place was smoky because of the cooking inside made worse by the poor exhaust ventilation system. It seemed there was no air circulation going on inside so it felt very stuffy. Pricey food. Worst of all we came out with our clothes & hair smelling like food because of the poor exhaust system. But the staff were polite.

“The heaven in my mouth.”

I was invited for a business dinner there last spring. I must admit it was a bit difficult place to find as google showed us different side of building. However, when we entered the restaurant my mood was fixed. I saw excellent looking pieces of meat being fried by the cook and thought I want one. ...We ordered cource Nanohana + sirloin stake. The food was cooked in front of our eays. Amazing experience. The clam was just perfect, I could taste garlic (love it) and when the time came for a meat I saw perfect piece of stake. Nice colour of meat, fresh with famous areas of lard/fat. This is the best part of it. Meat is tender, tasty and doesn't need any additional flavour. At the end was time for an ice-cream. It was a show of cook. Pouring some alkohon and setting fire. Perfect ending for a nice dinner. highly recommended.

Somehow tepanyaki has passed me by, and this was my first experience - it didn't disappoint. Food was delicious and beautifully presented - foie gras, lobster, and the all-important wagyu beef. Very enjoyable experience all round.
