“First ramen stop (Nov 2015)”

Reviewed 16/Nov/2018

This was the first ramen shop we went on our first night in Tokyo (30th Nov 2015) when we couldn’t find Ichiran Ramen. Never regretted finding this hole in the wall as the food was good (both Ramen and Gyoza) on a cold night. We will definitely visit this place again on our upcoming trip (14days ...and counting) to Japan.

“Best ramen!!! 🍜”

My fav ramen in my all-time fav city! A must-have every visit, never tired of it!!! Stumbled upon this spot years ago when the Q at nearby Ichiran was simply too long... Never regretted it, from then onwards I was never seen at Ichiran again! Went for the spicy always, and don’t forget the gyozas......! Small cozy corner restaurant, not many seats, opens until late like most ramen places, so go during off-peak hours... A hot bowl of delicious ramen is always welcomed in the middle of the night!

“The best Tonkotsu Ramen in Shinjuku”

I found this Kyoto Tonkotsu Ramen shop by chance, and what pleasant surprise it was. The soup stock is perfectly balanced, very rich pork taste and slightly salty. It easily beats the more famous Ipuddo, both in terms of taste and price. I really can't find anything to complain about, only I wish po...rtions were bigger, but that's only because it's as good as it is. (You can get a huge serving of extra pork if needed for only 250¥) - I can't recommend it enough.

“Hole in the wall Ramen experience :)”

Okay so it took me awhile to look for the name of this Ramen place because the name is written in Japanese. We ate here by accident since we cannot find Ichiran Ramen in the same area. But since we are starving on our first night in Tokyo we gave this a try. Food was great. We had the miso and the s...picy ramen.Beer was cold which is good. Gyoza is pretty good too. Ambiance is nice because you get that authentic Japanese vibe. I'm not so sure if they have toilets there. I guess people who frequent here were more of locals since nobody really speaks English. Staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Even if they can't speak English they just tried to listen to our translator app via our mobile phone. My husband tried his luck again to eat here on our last night in Tokyo but it's always full. So when we go back to Tokyo we'll definitely dine here again! :) * I'll post photos soon. Thanks!

Found this tiny hole-in-the-wall ramen joint by accident on my first trip to Tokyo 5 years ago. I was hooked! Since then I've been there on the the last 2 trips and the standard is consistent - great chewy ramen in superb tonkotsu broth. Who cares if it's a franchise. The food is good and wholesome.... I hope it'll be still there on my next trip.
