“Gone Downhill”
L'Atelier was one of our favorite Go To restaurant when we visited Tokyo both food and services were excellent, its been 10 years since our last visit and regrettably the food quality have gone downhill. The Summer degustation menu was mediocre and service was also average. Fortunately there are ma...ny other great French restaurants in Tokyo.

“A Miss from a Classic”
I have been to L'Atelier at least 10 times, 4 times to this location, but the first visit post-COVID. The experience is average at best. The restaurant was overly warm, and the air was heavy like being outside. We chose the $13,000YEN prefix option. The mushroom appetizer with egg foam and whe...at was almost the exact preparation as the entrée Uni-Spaghetti. Both were sub-average for Joel Robuchon. The saving grace was the Wagyu beef entrée for a 3000YEN uncharge. That was a dish worth remembering. Service was lovely, as expected.

“A Good Entry Level Foray into the World of Robuchon”
I recently went to Joel Robuchon’s slightly more affordable “L’Atelier” with a friend. The restaurant is nice, albeit all high-top seating and I would add the interior does seem a bit dated. The Service was a little on the pretentious side, although overall very good, and I truly appreciated our ser...ver’s wine suggestions. In addition to the amuse bouche they also provide an after-dinner dessert tray to sample some of their sweets and small pastries. I would say that overall this is a great way to try Joel Robuchon’s culinary delights without having to break the bank (four course meal without wine pairing is about 15000 yen), but nothing wowed me. Everything was good, predictably so, and maybe I would go back again, but not someplace that is so great that I would definitely go back time and again.

“Delicious dinner”
Our party of 4 had a delicious meal at this restaurant. You can sit at the counter and watch the kitchen at work or have a table. We chose the B menu which included an amuse Bouche, 2 appetizers, bread, main course and dessert. Portions were generous and quality was excellent for a set menu at this ...price. We chose the salmon tartar which was quite unique and delicious, the mussels and fries… both great, the delicious chestnut soup, and the octopus which was yummy, for our appetizers. For our main courses we had duck, chicken and beef…all excellent, and for dessert a pear clafoutis, soufflé, chocolate speciality item and crème brûlée, all yummy. There is an extensive wine selection. Service was very good and I would highly recommend this restaurant. Reservations are a must.

“Exquisite meal”
I recommend the small 3 course lunch, it's plenty enough and gorgeous. Most of the sitting is at the bar so that you can watch the busy kitchen, it's fascinating. One of the best lunches I ever had.
