“Chickeny Goodness!”

Reviewed 11/Jun/2019

If you like chicken noodle soup then this is the place for you. The broth is very concentrated but not heavy or oily. I had the Shoyu ramen with wonton and it was delicious. Big pieces of juicy pork, crunchy bamboo shoots and perfect thin noodles made this slurpy lunch one to remember. The staff sp...oke English and were very friendly and helpful. You won't stumble upon this gem as it's set on a back street but just put the address in your phone and you're guaranteed a tasty bowl of ramen.

“So so good”

Ok- I was not prepared for this. I’ve had many bowls of perfectly good ramen in japan and abroad so I expected this to be just good. I like being surprised. I love shio ramen and this was on point. The broth tasted like the strong chicken soup my mom would serve me in a mug whenever I had a cold as ...a child. Hubby ordered tsukemen which I wasn’t thrilled about because it’s so hard to get right. It was fantastic. Most places will serve it lukewarm- this was hot and had a squeeze of lemon and just s little tiny bit of yuzukosho. Dipping broth was super condensed and almost gravy-like but yet not too salty or fatty - just lots of chickeny goodness. Oh yes, I will be back.

“Ramen to rave about”

Very popular ramen joint known to locals, but not many visitors. Buried in the alleyways in Shinjuku, you'll find the small 12-person seater restaurant by the queue of locals waiting outside! The ramen is simple, but perfect. A great recommendation given to me by Bebot that lived up to expectations.... While the food is awesome, the downside is you may have to wait (I went twice, didn't wait first time, but waited 10-15mins the following time) and they do not serve any drinks - just provide water. A good cheap eat, but fantastic local ramen. You know it's good when the locals are eating there!

“Excellent chicken based soup ramen”

We were recommended to this shop by a local friend and indeed we were left impressed with the ramen. We ordered the standard chicken based soup char Siew ramen via the machine and was served after 5 minutes. Seating is by the bar counter type and can seat less than twenty person. Some waiting for se...ats to be expected. This shops is frequented by locals judging we are the only foreigners there during weekday lunch. Will recommend to come back!
