“My favorite Fast Food Japanese Curry: Thick and Dark. Good Shrimp Katsu As Well”
Go-Go Curry is easily my favorite fast food curry spot in Japan. I know it’s a close race between it, Coco Ichibanya, and a few others as far as chain restaurants go. But what I personally like about Go-Go Curry is that it specializes in dark, thick curry — easily my favorite way to eat Japanese-st...yle curry at home. Like most fast food restaurants in Japan, Go-Go Curry has a system where you order at a vending machine, get a ticket, hand it to the chefs, and they deliver the food to your table when it’s ready. And like many fast food places, this spot offers all-you-can-drink water, which I always really like. At this location in Okachimachi, I got the shrimp cutlet katsu, and it was really good. It’s tough to decide whether I prefer this or the pork cutlet at Go-Go Curry, but I definitely lean toward the shrimp katsu. It has that perfect mix of crispy batter on the outside and soft shrimp inside, without the shrimp overpowering the batter or the curry. This is definitely one of my favorite fast food spots in Japan. I definitely want to go at least one more time when I come back in the future.

“Go-go curry in Ueno”
My kids and I first heard about this curry place from a travel show. After seeing it on that show, we made it a point to visit this place when we traveled to Japan last April. We were pleased to see that aside from the Akihabara branch (the one featured on the show we watched), Go-go curry had a bra...nch along our favorite shopping street, Ameyo-kocho. The restaurant was beside an ABC Mart. It was small but stood out because of the stores bright colors. The place seats around 20 people max. One long table with everyone facing the wall, bar seating for around 7 people, and around 6 tables for 2 people each. Go-go is one of those Japanese restaurants wherein you need to use a vendo-machine/ order slip machine to order your food. The curry was rich and thick. It was darker than most Japanese curries I've tried, a very dark brown, nearing black. The smell and the taste of the curry were wonderful. Arguably the best curry I ever had. I ordered their sampler (2 pork cutlets, 1 Shrimp, and 2 sausages over 2 cups of rice smothered in curry) and was stuffed. I will definitely be visiting this place again during my next stay in Tokyo.

“Awesome japanese curry!”
Go go curry just tasted so much better in Tokyo than anywhere else. Nothing beats the authentic japanese curry in Tokyo itself! Go go curry is really tasty, great portion and lots of choices of chicken, beef and pork. Oishi!

“Local, good quality and Very cheap!!”
We were walking in the morning and checking out the restaurants to have breakfast. This place was packed with locals so we picked it. There is vending machine to pick the dish, no English but the girl working there could speak a bit and show us how to use the machine. We ordered curry beef/pork an...d also chicken curry. Both very good for the price ($4 each)
