“The store not the restaurant”
At night the building is covered with bright lights and signage – it would be hard to miss this 7 storey shopping mecca – part of a chain. It is located close the Asakusa Tsukuba Express station and a short walk from Senso-ji. There was a huge selection of both everyday and unusual items as others... have said. Staff assisted me to find the umeshu section – the prices were not duty free but excellent and there was a good range. It would be easy to spend more time wandering through the cornucopia of offerings (I was not sure if the fish were for sale or just display).

“Saizeriya Don Quijote Asaksa”
This is one giant retail merchandise outlet that is chock full of retail products from nuts to bolts. It is filled pretty much from floor to ceiling with products from electronic goods, personal skin care products, food cooked and uncooked etc. All spread on to several floors. One thing for sure..., it must be hell doing biannual inventory. Still it is an interesting place to visit and to check out the merchandises offered to the regular Japanese consumer. One can only stay a while before the bright nights and congestion between the aisles get to you

“Great variety, reasonable prieces”
Don Quijote is a chain that sells pretty much everything for very reasonable prices. The branch in Asakusa isnt the biggest one in Tokyo but still has a large selection of goods. When I say you can buy pretty much everything here i mean it, from typical japanese snacks, over goods for everyday usage... and pharmacy products to very strange and comical goods. You can easily look around for an hour or two without getting bored.

“Fantastic Place for Gifts!”
This place is four levels of chaos. Every aisle is filled with gifts, food, candy, toys, homewares, automotive and so much more. It is a one stop shop place for everything!
