HIBIYA PALACE

We had a nice lunch in a beautiful setting. Food was well prepared and beautifully presented. The entire experience was elegant and very restrained. There were few diners during lunch which made the experience seem somewhat impersonal. Our server did not speak English but made very effort to be h...elpful. Unfortunately he disappeared after clearing our appetizers. It was a confusing experience. Food was lovely but uninspired. The setting was absolutely lovely. It was a "nice" meal that did not inspire a return visit. Think it would be an excellent choice for business people in the area looking to entertain clients.

From the outside this place looked amazing. We sat (as a group) in 2. Floor. Not very intimate, but I guess the 1st floor were a LOT better. Food was absolutely ok! If I come back I will make sure we’ll sit in the main floor...

A great lunch was had. Both my wife and I had the lamb which was boned so as you never knew what cut it was. This was proceeded by an excellent bean soup and an appetizer. Followed by a pomegranate jelly. A beautiful setting in a quiet park. Marvelous service.

I havn't been in a lot of michelin resraurant before but the christmas menu they served last year wad up there in term of quality. Price was a bit expensive (20 000￥ per person) but everyone was served with generous portions of truffles and an exquisite beef so I guess it was worth the price. The se...rvice was very good though not outstanding (it wasn't either in the michelin restaurants I've been to), but it may just be me being especially strict (I used to work as a waiter). Overall very good experience and helpful staff.

- never mind the notorious whiners (where the h**l to they eat normally?!). This is a place that would be fantastic everywhere, one that makes a business lunch in a government setting (because it basically caters to the senior civil servants in the ministries and agencies in walking distance) a pur...e joy. Light, airy, parky - fantastic service (I could not want more, and I do actually not like more), and the food swiftly but not hurriedly served - that's an art. Multi-course lunch (purely "Western") with cold soup, fish with salad, grilled fish, meat, desert and just excellent sweets with coffee, all really delicious and some, such as dessert, on what I would call a Michelin ** level would that not sound so naff and nouveau-riche which this place isn't. I felt happier after this meal and I was absolutely able to conduct a two-hour-plus seminar right next door without any problems. There's not many business lunch restaurants where I could say this. No idea about the prices, but I hope it's not cheap because it's worth a lot. Go.
