“One of the Most Fun Dinners I Had in Japan!”
My wife and I ventured out to Kitazawa for dinner one evening, and to explore the neighborhood, which is packed with vintage and second hand clothing stores. We ended up at this place pretty randomly after walking around for a while and seeing what was available food-wise. What a great choice! This... is an izakaya with a variety of interesting options. You walk in and take your shoes off, then head across the wooden floors to your seats. There are places for larger groups, but we sat at the bar. They are known for a few dishes, but I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything we had was great. There are a lot of guys working there, making drinks, getting orders out, etc. I don't think anyone spoke English, so we made our way through the menu with the help of some translation apps. We've never really had issues when doing that, and the servers usually get a kick out of us trying to order but having no idea what we're actually saying. We were having so much fun that we ended up buying a couple of rounds of tequila shots for the staff, which they were very appreciative of. It was a great time all around, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again!
