Definitely one of the best Tonkatsu Restaurants in Tokyo. Excellent service and delightful food.

Three of us went to Sugita for dinner on a Sunday night. We booked through Omakase based on the Michelin Guide recommendation. Overall - an outstanding experience exactly as expected, but at a value for money price Pluses: - Tight, focused menu, team and process that is a joy to behold - Delightf...ul food that we all scoffed - not only the centre-piece pork, but the miso soup stood out - Real value for money - only £35 each Negatives: - None we can think of. Making it easier to book all the possible seating and dining options for foreigners would be a helpful next step e sat at the bar. There are two kotatsu tables at the back as well.

I only found this place through the Japan Eatinerary website, a restaurant booking partner of the Michelin guide. We paid for the omakase menu and it was very filling and so delicious. It’s all bar seating so you get a front row seat to the action. We loved seeing the chefs work together. One thin...g I learned about their kitchen hierarchy is you order drinks and other stuff directly from the chef, instead of the one serving you. The tonkatsu itself was very juicy and flavourful and the portions were generous. We definitely didn’t leave hungry. What a great “hidden” gem. I would dine there next time I visit Tokyo for sure.

Pork was very juicy. The chef and staff were all friendly/helpful. It was a bit pricey though given it had a far location in Taito/Asakusa area.

Was looking for a place for my last meal before heading back home, and this place was a short walk from my hotel. Ordered the Tonkatsu, with a side of rice, pickles, and miso soup-delicious! Great service, and they were accommodating to my very limited Japanese.
