“Enjoy this at off peak hours”
Unagi Toku, Shibuya Hikarie The last time I was here, a friend recommended this place but the queue was hours long I gave up. Decided to try my luck this round since it's a Friday afternoon off regular lunch hours (was there close to 3pm) and heng ah, no queue at all! Got seated immediately and o...rdered their Specialty classic Unagi Tea Set - or what is commonly known as the Hitsumabushi (Nagoya style unadon). The grilled unagi is cut into bite-sized pieces and served in a lacquer bowl. They even provide instructions (in various languages) on the 3 ways to enjoy this. First, original unagi don. Second, unagi don topped with the condiments and seasoning. Lastly, pouring tea over the unagi don for a soupy version, known as chazuke. I did all 3, but I enjoyed the 2nd best. Green onion in Japan just tastes different, and balances the fatty, well grilled unagi with the right amount of char, it was the perfect hearty meal. My most expensive meal this trip but well worth the S$50. But probably not worth a 3 hr queue during peak days, peak hours.

“Unagi in the summer is sooooo good!”
Yeah, this place has some of the best Unagi donburi I've eaten…delicious! There's nothing quit like it, eating nice Japanese Unagi. There's a lot of places selling mass produced farm raised eels from China and other foreign country's, but nothing is better than Ungai from Japan! The texture and tend...er meat, the easy and soft skin, these attributes can not be matched by products brought in from abroad. So buyer be ware! Try this place out, I think you'll love it too!

“Quality unagi, poor service”
Go for the unagi If you are able to order from a Japanese menu with a not helpful none English speaking staff Google translate was our rescue 3 quality of unagi. Recommend the middle quality for best value. The best quality unagi is a really top notch but also a pricey.

“One of the Best (if not the best) place for Unagi”
After taking photos in Shibuya Crossing and Hachiko dog statue, my tummy was drumming and we made it to Shibuya Hikarie building which is about few minutes walk away. Located on the 6th floor where most high end restaurants are, we were relieved to find that there's still table for us. Reading Japa...nese menu is challenging and luckily they have picture menu for us to point at... we went for the original taste for unagi (without any marination) and also the sweet unagi (the one we used to eat) - no regret! The unagi was good in its original flavor plus the sweet one was equally appetizing. As per Tokyo standard, the price was slightly on the high side but the quality of food made it all worth the effort and money paid!

“You don’t need to wait at noon”
You don’t need to wait at noon. The food here is really delicious. It’s a little expensive but it’s worth. The manager respect the old man.
