“Ogikubo beer kobo micro brewery”
A 5min walk from JR Ogikubo station there’s a small but cute micro brewery with delicious beers on tap! You might actually miss it as it’s tucked in between houses in a residential area. Look for a house with a few deck chairs and a small table out front. The food is also very good and goes well ...with the beer. One mug of beer is also very reasonably priced from ¥400-¥600 a glass depending on the beer.

“Disappointing”
I was a fan of Beer Kobo in Nishiogi and visited often. I was sad to discover it had closed a few months ago. Craving their wonderful fish and chips I decided to give their Ogikubo shop a try. It was very disappointing. As a positive I tried the sunny strong beer and it was good. My friend tried t...wo other beers and enjoyed both. The fish and chips was very disappointing. While the Nishiogi shop served two large pieces of lightly fried fish and chips in a basket,in Ogikubo the serving was two tiny pieces of greasy fish served in a small tin on top of the fries. Not good. We decided not to stay and left to find a better place for dinner While the Nishiogi Beer Kobo was big and bright with a large terrace and friendly staff, the Ogikubo venue was small and stuffy and not especially welcoming. There is also no signage in English outside so it was difficult to identify Very disappointing and I won’t return.

“Great beer!”
We visited here with our son and his wife last night. There are several in Tokyo. Fantastic locally brewed beer and lovely salad. They do great fish and chips too our son tells us. IPA is to die for!
