“Absolutely wonderful meal…Period”

USA couple looking for an unpretentious Japanese noodle meal. We found this little gem by luck via Tripadvisor. Restaurant is small but they have tables for couples or families. English menu. Staff very friendly and welcoming. This is the holy grail for traditional handmade udon noodles..the owner s...tarts at 3am to make the dough. Broth is very tasty. You can add various kinds of tempura to the noddles and this a a great addition. This first bowl was also the last for me. Just too thick and filling, so why did we come back 4 nights in a row? Prawn, scallop and veggie tempura…OMG…out of this world. The best hot and high quality tempura. Scallops are 10/15 and prawns U15. Their veggie tempura is light and fresh and rice a buck per bowl. Beer is ice cold. Run don’t walk to this restaurant. Cost? $40 for 2 people all in for 10 prawns and scallops, rice, beer, veggies tempura.

“Delicious food and helpful staff”

Clearly a local restaurant rather than a tourist trap. Amazing selection of food items, including lots of vegetarian items (which can be tricky to find!). The staff were very friendly and accommodating and there was an English menu if needed, but google translate was also pretty accurate with the Ja...panese menu. Filling, delicious food and very reasonably priced!

“UDON Experience of Tradition”

The restaurant is located in Ningyocho area. Very close to Suithengumae Shrein. It’s located close to both metro stations. Easy walking through the nice neighbourhood. Mainly Japanese customers, little tourists, but they offer one English menu. This makes it easy to understand the different udon dis...hes and select your favourite meal. The staff is very helpful and food is prepared freshly at the bar. The tempura I tasted was really good, too. They offer the udon noodle in 3 different sizes (200g / 300g / 400g) included. If you still need more, there is a markup on the price for 500g. - I had the „chu“ size = medium. It is a good size. Inside seating is at the bar for singles or couples. They do have four tables in the back of the restaurant, serving 4 persons each.

“The BEST udon!!”

Best Udon ever! I have tried a lot of udon all over Japan, but this one is simply the best. You can taste the freshness of the udon, the tempura is next level delicious and everything is freshly made in front of you. I am hard to please, but this udon restaurant is exceptional. Beside the hot kake ...udon I recommend the curry cheese udon. I wish I could take this restaurant home.

“Come for the Udon, stay for the Tempura”

Easily the best Udon I have ever had. The bonus was some really great tempura to go with it. I had the tempura seafood with classic Udon and hot broth and it was about 10 dollars. The large portion was a bit much so I would recommend the medium for most people. This spot is a little out of the way b...ut we’ll worth the time. Very friendly staff that will bring you and English menu. The tempura was awesome. Highly recommend a visit.
