“The most well-known buffet in Tokyo”

I revisited the Imperial Hotel with my family to enjoy weekend dinner buffet. This time I reserved the plan of ‘Weekend Dinner Buffet with Flow-flowing drinks’. ■ Food: Dishes below are to be highlighted amongst a wide variety of dishes. ◯ Roast Beef: Roast Beef is a key dish in terms of satisfa...ction level of buffet. The roast beef served this time was medium rare, which is my preference. It is so good for guests to order them with their preferred thickness. ◯ Escargot with Cream Sauce: Escargot is my favorite dish as well as Roast Beef. The escargots with a rich and sophisticated sauce went well with the dry white wine. I fully enjoyed both. ◯ Dessert: Like the roast beef, desserts are stunning. It’s a shame that I was unable to try all sorts of desserts due to my full stomach. ■ Free-flowing drinks: Beer, wine, and soft drinks are included. With regards to the wine, Chateau Haut-Pelletan 2017 (white) and Chateau Des Trois Tours 2020 (red) were served. ■ Service: Overall, servers’ attentiveness to our table lived up to our expectations. This time there was no particular concern. ■ Conclusion: The Imperial Hotel is special and extraordinary to me, compared with edgy and luxury foreign-affiliated hotels. I hope the buffet served by the hotel will further extend its presence as ‘One-of-a-kind’ buffet backed by its history. エッジの効いた外資系ホテルが乱立する中、個人的には帝国ホテルは特別な存在。歴史に裏打ちされた唯一無二のバイキングとして、ますます存在感を発揮していただきたい。

When in Tokyo, we often host parties at the Viking Sal, it is one of very few quality buffets that we have found and our guests always enjoy the dining and service.

We ate at The Imperial Viking on the evening of typhoon Hagibis. This restaurant did not miss a beat! How they managed to produce such a fantastic spread under such conditions shows the professionalism of all concerned. Many thanks from a grateful guest. Of special mention were the beef, the curries..., the salmon and the puddings!

“Good - for 1970s”

The buffet option is a great, especially when you have a range of diner favourites, and want to try both local and more international dishes. These style restaurants are very popular in Asia, with Singapore (Mandarin Orchard) and Manila (Shangri-La at the Fort) being fantastic examples. Unfortunatel...y, the Imperial Viking falls very short in comparison. Small range of options, very basic dishes (many representative of cuisine in the 1970s), much of the food had gone cold. No options for the gluten free. Desserts were good. For the expense, it is an over-priced option for dining in Tokyo.
