“Worst experience”

1
Reviewed 04/Sep/2026

This was, without exaggeration, the worst dining experience of my life. I ordered a chicken curry and a coriander salad, and both were absolute garbage. The curry looked and tasted like watery vomit. The chicken was stale, discolored, stringy, and poorly chopped with bones still attached, resulting ...in tiny, dangerous bone fragments hidden throughout the dish that tore up my mouth and left it bleeding. Unbelievable and deeply unsafe. The rice served with it was dried out, stale, and clearly sitting around for hours. To top it off, the "coriander salad" didn't even have any coriander in it. It was made with bitter, stale, old lettuce and drowned in the cheapest, most pathetic supermarket French dressing imaginable. I couldn't eat about 90% of the entire meal, yet they still had the nerve to charge 1,800 yen for this hazard. This place is genuinely dangerous and unfit to serve food. It belongs under the review of health inspectors. Save your money, avoid this terrible establishment entirely, and go literally anywhere else—even Coco’s or a cheap local Indian place would be infinitely better than this. Do not go here.

“Absolute worst Indian food restaurant”

My wife and I were craving Indian food and when we got there, we were told there was only rice and curry dishes. The food came. It was very lackluster. Probably the worst Indian food I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Don’t waste your time or money.. The service was very poor. The food was very poor ...and choices were next to nothing.. being Indian, we’ve had great experiences at home and in restaurants. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone..

Established in 1949, it is the oldest restaurant specializing in Indian cuisine in Japan. It is a long-established restaurant that popularized Indian spiced curry in Japan. It is a famous restaurant. The famous “Murgi Lunch” is a chicken curry, but it can be ordered throughout the day.

We had seen people queuing outside for a table at lunchtime so immediately thought this was the place for a good curry. We visited for an evening meal but were very disappointed. The menu is limited. The food was bland and uninspiring. No pickles or dips with the popadom s. I’m quite surprised t...his place has been going for so many years. They’re clearly getting something right. Not sure what it is though? The staff are friendly, the space is cosy and the beer chilled. Overall an expensive, disappointing meal.
