This place had great meat that we were able to cook, and they have a bunch of spices on the side that you can use. They were also very nice and made sure my husband’s food was not contaminated by fish or shellfish. They even made a dipping sauce for him that used nothing seafood related. Went here because of previous reviews and was not disappointed. Always good to be able to cook your own on the table bbq with all the sizzle and smoke although each bbq has a ceiling mounted extractor pipe directly over the bbq. Good service and reasonable price. Evening peak hours best to book ahea...d. Felt pretty authentic since most of fellow diners were Japanese. Located in interesting street with other restaurant options

During our stay in Tokyo, we ate at Ryu-nosu multiple times because, quite simply, there wasn't too much that could top it. On our first night exploring Shinjuku, we discovered this restaurant (adorned in yellow lanterns, traditional wooden Japanese decor + tables, and filled to the brim with livel...y locals - which is always a good sign). The staff are enthusiastic and attentive, and immediately sat us the moment we walked in. The restaurant serves a variety of Japanese food: each table comes with a grill-your-own yakiniku J-BBQ grill + other dishes like ramen, rice bowls, etc. The food here was *incredibly* delicious, there wasn't one dish or item we had that didn't satisfy us incredibly. The ramen was impeccable, the rice bowls were exquisite, and the meat cuts they provided for our yakiniku were rich. Ryu-nosu also serves a lot of alcohol, so we enjoyed some tasty whiskey + cocktail concoctions during our visits! This place is an absolute hidden gem and kind of a ghost on Western-leaning Internet (you won't really find it), but for us, it was one of the best places we ate at in Tokyo - and certainly in all of Shinjuku. Come here for the utterly fantastic food, lively late-night atmosphere, and a glimpse into a *real* Japanese dining experience.

Went here just by coincidence but I’m so glad we decided to dine here! Fully packed with lively kitchen we had outstanding Waguy meet with our own little grill and chilled drinks. Loved it

We only had 3 nights in Tokyo and found this lively Japanese BBQ restaurant on the first night. They have an English menu and and all the staff were young, friendly and helpful. We had no idea what was expected of us and they made us Aussie’s feel welcome. We tried going back on our 2nd night but ...by the time we arrived, they were already full. We learnt our lesson and went back earlier on our third night and enjoyed another sample of their meats where we cooked the mixed meat platter on the BBQ grill. Can highly recommend and should we return to the area, will definitely return.
