“Definitely a hidden gem .. Japanese pancakes that are so much fun to cook and to eat!!”
Known as ‘Monja’ street, this little restaurant specialises in Japanese pancakes. Monja are the Tokyo style - these are thin and flat and you eat them with a little scraper directly off the hot plate!! So much fun ... you choose your pancake and the chef can either bake it for you or you cook yours...elf!! Either way works but if it’s your first time, suggest letting them show you what to do!! The other style is from Osaka. I forget what it’s called but it is smaller and thicker, sliced and eaten with chopsticks!! Delicious!! Definitely get the staff to cook this for you ... and then you can always finish off with red bean pancake (crepe style) for dessert!! We had 2x Monja, 2x Osaka-style and shared one dessert pancake between six and that was plenty. Loved this!! Definitely worth a trip!
